To grow as a leader, what questions should you be asking yourself every day?
Have I achieved anything?
As you finish each day, take a moment to question what you’ve achieved. Try to take one step, however small, closer to your ultimate goal every day, and if you haven’t achieved this, use that fact to help yourself become more productive the following day.
Did I make any mistakes?
Admit to yourself when you’ve made a wrong decision, and ensure that you’ve rectified the situation – making sure your team are aware of any changed plans.
Did I help anyone else today?
This will help you take a step back from your own achievements/ mistakes, and acknowledge that other people are doing a good job. Take time out of your own day to spend time helping an employee, whether that be discussing their performance, or training them in a new skill.
What should I let go of?
As a leader, it’s probable that you often bite off more than you can chew. Take the time to remember that you don’t need to be directly involved with every single decision made within your business, and let go of this urge! Chances are that you’ve employed people you trust, so think about what you can hand over to your team.
