Keyboard with Save Your Time Button. As a managing director, CEO or manager, chances are that you spend a lot of time organising other people, rather than getting your own work done and reaching your own goals. However, often it can be the little shortcuts that really cut the time spent on certain tasks, so here are The Results Centre’s top three tips for saving those little chunks of time that can add up to half of your day…

  1. Learn the shortcuts – Even something like learning how to format text using just your keyboard, rather than right clicking and picking an option can save seconds when typing up important documents (CTRL Z is a life saver for undoing small mistakes). Most smartphones enable you to programme in personalised shortcuts, but if you’re not quite up to this, why not move your most used apps to your homepage, saving you from scrolling through every time you unlock.
  2. Watch others to learn more effective ways of working – With technology, you often just muddle through rather than sitting down and learning the basics. Watching other people work can throw up all sorts of time saving practices. Imagine creating a Powerpoint presentation but having to be online the whole time in order to have access to a Youtube video, and then watching a colleague who was able to download the same clip and import it straight into their presentation – this happened, and it saves around two hours per presentation!
  3. Watch tutorials – With the rise and rise of Youtube, a wealth of information is out there and available to anyone who chooses to access it. Take time on your commute or break every day to watch a short clip on a topic that interests you or could benefit your company, and you’ll be amazed how much you can learn.

Embracing technology can really help you to save a considerable amount of time every single day. Contact The Results Centre at info@theresultscentre.com to find out more about how you can get the best business results.
